Maine  four mushrooms and a wedding   September 4th - 13th, 2004

A few days before the wedding,
a gang of us went whitewater
rafting.

We took the Kennebec river
when it was at a very high water
level, guaranteeing more action
and more fun.

The crew were Julie, Bill,
Karen, Jeanne and I.

The guide was Joe
Christopher, owner of Three
Rivers rafting company (see
them
here) and longtime friend
of Julie and Karen Greene. He
generously gave the whole trip,
plus dinner afterwards, for free
as a wedding gift to Julie.

"All ahead! Haaahd!"

"Swim, honey! Swim!"

Bill goes overboard as we plough into a particularly vicious rapid, hit sideways by Joe's guiding
technique. Subsequent rumours (that Joe had deliberately dumped the groom into the surf as a
"pre-wedding present") were dismissed by senior sources on the trip.
